Coming soon

Your true investment return, across every account.

No bank logins. No subscription. Held works out what your investments have really returned, on your own device, and shows the working behind every figure.

We will email you when Held launches, and people on the list hear about launch pricing first. That is all we will use your address for. Unsubscribe any time.

The problem

  • Each provider shows its own return, worked out its own way.
  • Adding those figures up gives the wrong answer, because the money went in at different times.
  • The spreadsheet breaks on dividends, transfers and currency.
  • The trackers that do it properly want your logins, or a subscription of $80 to $250 a year.

What Held does

  • Works out your true return, both money-weighted (XIRR) and time-weighted, for each holding, each account and the whole portfolio, with dividends and fees counted.
  • Shows the working: tap any figure to see the transactions and prices behind it.
  • Shows your allocation across every account by asset class, tax wrapper, currency, region and sector, with targets and drift.
  • Compares your return with a benchmark, any index fund or ETF, over the same period.
  • Brings your history in from CSV, Portfolio Performance or Kubera.
  • Keeps everything on your own device: no logins, no account, one file you own in a documented format, with optional passphrase encryption.

You pay once for Held, like Zeroed. There is no account and nothing to log in to.

Held is for you if…

  • You are a self-directed investor, alone or as a couple, with funds, ETFs or shares spread across several providers.
  • You hold mostly inside tax wrappers, buy and hold, and check in monthly rather than daily.
  • You want one honest return figure across all of it, and a way to check how it was worked out.
  • You would rather pay once than subscribe, and you do not want to hand over your logins.

Held is not for you if…

  • You trade actively.
  • Your main need is a capital gains tax report.
  • You are a financial adviser managing clients.
  • You want bank sync.

Where things stand

Held is still in development, so there is nothing to download yet and no launch price to quote. The waiting list is the way to hear first. In the meantime, our guide to portfolio trackers compared looks at what Sharesight, Kubera and Portfolio Performance cost and who each suits.
